ABOUT DR. JOHN COLLINS
The founder and director of Collins Education Associates
LLC (CEA), Dr.
Collins is an acknowledged expert in converting research on writing
and thinking into practical, time saving teaching techniques for
K-12 schools. He is the creator of the highly successful Collins
Writing ProgramSM and the author of numerous publications
including the widely used
book
The Collins Writing Program: Improving Student
Performance Through Writing and Thinking Across the Curriculum
and
Developing Writing and Thinking Skills
Across the Curriculum: A Practical Program for Schools. The
Collins Writing Program is used in thousands of classroom by
millions of students throughout the United States.
For more than twenty years, Dr. Collins has
been providing teacher training and
consulting services to schools. His company, CEA, has conducted more
than 15,000 workshops nationwide and has worked with school
districts of every type and size. The National Council of Teachers
of English has singled out communities that use his techniques for
special recognition.
Dr. Collins received a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Boston College, Master of Education from Boston University, and
Doctor of Education from the University of Massachusetts. He has
taught from the elementary to the graduate level. Most recently, Dr.
Collins was a keynote speaker at the prestigious
Harvard Principal’s
Center.
